Admiral Washer; Dryer Repair – Louisville, OH (30 LBS)

A commercial laundry facility in Louisville called about multiple equipment issues across their Admiral washers and dryers. The 2 timers are in the back room on the desk ready for install, and Dexter 27 had no water on rinse. We found timer failures on units 30 and 31, plus a faulty cold water valve that appeared to be a recent cheap replacement.

The Problem

The facility reported that Dexter 27 had no water on rinse. Additionally, they had 2 timers waiting in the back room on the desk ready for install on other units in their commercial laundry setup.

Diagnosis

We found multiple issues across the equipment. On washer #2, the drain hose had come disconnected. Units 30 and 31 needed the timer replacements that were waiting. Most significantly, Dexter 27’s cold water valve had failed – this was one that had been installed recently and appeared to be a cheap valve replacement.

The Repair

  • Parts replaced: Timer and decal on units 30 and 31, new cold valve on Dexter 27
  • Work performed: Reconnected the drain hose on top load washer #2, installed timer and decal on 30 and 31, installed new cold valve on Dexter 27
  • Result: All units restored to proper operation with water flow and timing functions working correctly

Is It Worth Repairing?

For commercial laundry operations, Admiral equipment represents solid value with parts readily available. These machines are built for heavy use, and proper repairs with quality components typically provide years of continued service. The key is using genuine or high-quality replacement parts rather than cheap alternatives that fail prematurely.

Maintenance Tips for Admiral Commercial Washers and Dryers

  • Inspect drain hose connections monthly – commercial use can cause vibration that loosens fittings
  • Replace water valves with OEM or quality aftermarket parts, not cheap substitutes that fail quickly
  • Clean timer controls regularly and replace when they show signs of wear rather than waiting for complete failure
