Admiral Washer; Dryer Repair – Louisville, OH (Stack dryer and 40lb)

A commercial laundry facility in Louisville called us about multiple equipment failures affecting their operation. The Dexter stack dryer number 1 wasn’t heating again after a previous repair, and a Wascomat unit with an out-of-order tag kept running after our last visit and was stuck during the cycle and wouldn’t shut off.

The Problem

The customer reported that Dexter stack dryer number 1 was not heating again. Additionally, the Wascomat with an out-of-order tag on it kept running after the last visit and was stuck during the cycle and wouldn’t shut off.

Diagnosis

We diagnosed the Continental with a door latch problem. The Wascomat needed a timer replacement, and the Dexter dryer required a replacement thermostat to restore proper heating function.

The Repair

  • Parts replaced: Door latch for Continental, timer for Wascomat, thermostat for Dexter dryer
  • Work performed: Replaced the latch and recommended replacing the door on the Continental unit, installed timer and thermostat on scheduled parts installation date
  • Result: Parts were installed on March 16, 2020, restoring proper operation to all units

Is It Worth Repairing?

Commercial laundry equipment like Admiral, Dexter, and Wascomat units are built for heavy-duty use and typically justify repair costs due to their high replacement value. These machines are designed to run continuously in commercial environments, making professional repair the most cost-effective option for maintaining business operations.

Maintenance Tips for Commercial Laundry Equipment

  • Inspect door latches monthly on Continental and similar commercial washers to prevent cycle interruption issues
  • Monitor Dexter dryer thermostats for consistent heating performance and replace at first sign of temperature irregularities
  • Schedule regular timer maintenance on Wascomat units to prevent stuck cycles and ensure proper shut-off functionality
