A commercial laundry facility on North Chapel Street in Louisville called us back for a persistent Admiral T300 washer that was still not starting up, plus a dryer making clicking noises near the igniter. After our previous visit, the washer was still giving them trouble and the dryer had developed ignition issues.
The Problem
The customer reported that the Dexter T300 that had the issue last is still having the issue, still not starting up. Additionally, dryer 8 makes a clicking noise near the igniter and stutters a bit trying to light up and sometimes doesn’t light up.
Diagnosis
On the dryer, we found the valve control was the culprit behind the clicking and ignition problems. For the washer, we discovered the door latch lock assembly was pretty gummed up and may have been sticking, preventing proper startup.
The Repair
- Parts replaced: Valve control on the dryer
- Work performed: Swapped out the valve control and cleaned the door latch lock assembly on the washer
- Result: Started the washing machine and it finished the third cycle flawlessly; the dryer seems to be working properly
Is It Worth Repairing?
Admiral commercial laundry equipment is built for heavy-duty use and typically has a long service life when properly maintained. The T300 series washers and dryers are workhorses in commercial settings, so repairing valve controls and cleaning door mechanisms is usually worthwhile compared to replacing entire units. These machines are designed to handle thousands of cycles.
Maintenance Tips for Admiral Commercial Washers and Dryers
- Clean door latch assemblies monthly to prevent buildup that can cause starting issues
- Inspect dryer igniter components regularly and listen for unusual clicking sounds during startup
- Schedule preventive maintenance on valve controls before they fail completely
