Then I ran it for about 12 hours at which time I got the reading of 10 degrees in the freezer and basically no cooling in the refrigerator. Both the control in the freezer and the main control were set to normal.
Diagnosis
The evaporator fan had failed. Without this fan circulating cold air from the evaporator coils, the freezer could maintain some cooling from direct contact with the coils, but no cold air was being moved to the fresh food compartment.
