Most Kenmore Elite French door and bottom-freezer refrigerators built after 2010 (model prefix 795) are built by LG on the LG linear compressor platform. These units have a documented widespread compressor failure pattern: the compressor runs, sounds completely normal, and shows no error code, but the refrigerator gradually warms up. Freezer may still work partially. No noise, no obvious symptoms — just a warm fridge.
This is the LG linear compressor failure. It’s caused by broken internal reed valves inside the compressor.
