What happened to Alliance Appliance Center
Alliance Appliance Center, Inc. was the family-owned appliance dealer at 817 S Union Avenue in Alliance, Ohio. It served the community since 1961 — more than 60 years — as a BrandSource dealer carrying GE, Maytag, Hotpoint, Speed Queen, and other major brands, and it closed in 2024. The storefront is shut and the old website is no longer active.
When a longtime local dealer closes, two things go with it: the place you bought the appliance and the service team that knew the brand. I’m an independent repair company, not that dealer, and I have no affiliation with them — but I can pick up the repair side for their former customers.
One quick note to clear up a common mix-up: Alliance Appliance Center was a local Ohio retailer. It is a completely separate company from Alliance Laundry Systems, the Wisconsin manufacturer that makes Speed Queen. Same word, different companies.

Alliance Appliance Center carried GE and the GE family (GE Profile, GE Café, Hotpoint), plus Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Amana, and Speed Queen. I work on all of them — and I’ve serviced Samsung and LG since 2018, back when a lot of shops wouldn’t touch them.
Speed Queen owners tend to be the most loyal folks in the laundry room, because those machines are built to run for decades. If you bought yours from Alliance Appliance Center, I service Speed Queen washers and dryers and carry common parts on the truck.
