For 35 years, D&D TV & Appliance took care of Carrollton and the surrounding lakes and townships. After the loss of their longtime serviceman and one of their owners, the doors closed at the end of 2022. Louisville Appliance Repair has carried that work forward ever since — factory-authorized, OEM parts, and the same in-your-home service Carroll County always counted on.

Three and a Half Decades of Carroll County Service
D&D TV & Appliance started the way a lot of good small-town businesses do — two names over one door. Don Parker and Dan Ries combined their first names to make “D&D,” and the store opened in 1987 on Public Square in Carrollton, reportedly in a foot of snow. When Don looked toward retirement about ten years later, Don’s son Tom Parker stepped in alongside Dan, and the two lifelong friends ran it together for the next two decades.
They outgrew the square, bought a warehouse building on Canton Road NW, and reopened there in 2000. Over the years they delivered appliances on Thanksgiving Day, answered Sunday calls when a family’s only stove quit, bought 4-H and FFA projects at the county fair, and sponsored teams and events. For a generation of Carroll County families, D&D was simply who you called.

In a fitting footnote, the old D&D building on Canton Road found new life in 2026 as the U.S. headquarters of Dango & Dienenthal — another “D&D,” same initials over the same door.

The People Behind the Name
D&D’s reputation was built by the people who showed up at your door. Two of them passed away in 2022, within months of each other — the loss that ultimately led to the store’s closing. Carroll County remembers them.
D&D’s appliance repairman for twenty years — the hands behind countless Carroll County service calls. A Carrollton High graduate and Air Force veteran, he was the technician families knew by name.
Co-owner of D&D for over two decades, a Carrollton High graduate, former Dellroy fire chief, and longtime village council member. He delivered appliances himself, even on holidays, because that’s what a small community meant to him.

I Ran D&D’s Service Calls Myself
When Dave Walter passed in early 2022, those repair calls still had to be answered — and I’m the technician who answered them. I ran service calls for D&D’s customers across Carrollton, the lakes, and the townships during that stretch, working in the same homes Dave had served for years. So this isn’t a company that parachuted in after the fact. I was already in your kitchens.

We do. Louisville Appliance Repair services Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid and the entire Whirlpool family throughout Carroll County. We carry common Whirlpool-family parts on the truck and complete most repairs in a single visit.
Carrollton and Carroll County are a regular part of our route — about 22 minutes from our base. We’ve serviced appliances throughout the county since 2018, including Lake Mohawk, Malvern, Atwood Lake, Leesville Lake, Sherrodsville, Dellroy, and Kensington, and we ran D&D’s service calls during 2022.
We charge a diagnostic fee to come out and identify the problem. If you approve the repair, that fee applies toward the total repair price — it’s not an extra charge on top. If you decline, you only pay the diagnostic fee. We’re repair-first and don’t sell appliances, so we have no reason to push a replacement.
