A Frigidaire dishwasher in Akron wasn’t draining properly, leaving standing water after each cycle. Our diagnosis revealed a plastic obstruction in the drain hose extension that was blocking water flow completely.

The Problem

Diagnosis

The dishwasher had an extension on the drain hose since it was so far from the sink drain. At that joint on the extension, there was a piece of plastic obstructing the water flow. During our second visit, we also discovered the dishwasher was leaking and required additional repairs to the door sealing system.

The Repair

• Parts replaced: 809006501 — bottom door gasket, 154701001 — splash shield kit
• Work performed: Removed plastic obstruction from drain hose extension joint, replaced bottom door gasket, installed spray shields on the bottom of the door gasket
• Result: After removing the obstruction, the dishwasher is draining and operating correctly
