The Problem
Fridge not running – tested by smacking the console next to the thermostat knob and motor kicked back on, customer confirmed running while on call. Diagnosed bad thermostat; replacement needed. Customer transferred ice cream/ice to neighbor; meat etc should be OK overnight. Customer instructed: don’t open freezer door, smack console near knob if it stops running again.
The Repair
Cold control thermostat had failed. Replaced thermostat, good to go.
