Maytag Washer Repair – Minerva, OH (MVWB880BWC)

A Maytag Bravos XL top load washer on Carroll St in Minerva, OH was giving its owner repeated UL error codes and would not complete a spin cycle, with the tub visibly off-center despite multiple attempts to rebalance the load. Samuel arrived at the home to diagnose the unit and found the repair was not advisable given the condition of several components. The customer decided to replace the washer rather than proceed with repairs.

The Problem

Serial # C34670701 Bravo XL Top Load.
Throws a UL code and will not rebalance despite going through the releveling and spin cycles with me also trying to balance and level the clothing. When looking at the tub it appears to lean a bit to the right, it is not centered. The UL code starts after the 1st spin. I have never been able to get it to complete spinning because it will not balance. It adds water and tries again several cycles.
I never do large loads there are just 2 of us to wash for.

The Repair

Main issue is bearings going out in tub. But the shocks are loose and the basket bushings are worn. Not advisable to repair at this point. Customer is going to replace Unit.
