The dryer made loud squeaks and squeals at startup. Worn drum rollers and a rough idler pulley were replaced, eliminating the noise; heater checked OK.
Dryer had no heat. Replaced the heating element assembly (element, thermal fuse, cycling thermostat) and a worn idler pulley to restore proper drying.
This Amana dryer (NGD5100TQ1) had no heat and the timer wouldn’t advance. Replacing a burned thermal fuse restored proper heating and timer operation.
